1 - We are all Treaty People
Native Land is an interactive map that helps people identify the Indigenous territories, languages, and treaties in various regions around the world. It’s not official legal boundaries but a living document created from Indigenous communities.
Gakina Gidagwi’igoomin Anishinaabewiyang: We Are All Treaty People talks about the foundational agreements that formed Canada (treaties) and how they shape relationships, rights, and responsibilities of both indigenous and non-Indigenous people. One day we will have two eyed seeing - People will view Canada through both boarders - those created by the colonists and those understood in the treaties. This is an incrimental step in a long journey towards that time.
